Window Dressing
"One of the aspects I love about New York is how the people try to enhance their environment by setting flowers on the window sills. This was the premise for "Window Dressing", superimposing the color, grace and beauty of a coleus plant in front of the drab cityscape of New York. Buildings have a cubist, abstract quality and each coleus leaf has its own design. But, the design in the plant is fluid, more free-flowing than the hard structural character of the buildings. Having lived in Manhattan for several summers, I can appreciate the relief of a plant or flower. It always helped to remind me that there is life beyond concrete."
