     "Treme, adjacent to the French Quarter, was one of the first places I explored.  Its equally old buildings looked only minimally damaged, but the flood water lines on their facades indicated that was misleading.

     The block in my painting was particularly hard hit, nonetheless, I still added the barren tree and tattered banana leaves to emphasize the destruction.  The dark rain cloud over Lake Pontchartrain might mean the street will get rid of some of its dirt and grime."           Rolland Golden
