     "This painting began with the face of the man, which I saw on television.  He then grew into a full figure standing in a flooded doorway.  The silhouettes of the arms and hands I had been experimenting with for days, now was the time to use them.  I created the window and broken glass in the foreground to heighten the realization of interior damage."                 Rolland Golden
