Fresh Glory
"Shortly after Stella and I moved from the French Quarter in New Orleans to rural Folsom, LA., she washed our American flag. We had not displayed it while living in the quarter for fear pranksters might steal it. The flag had yellowed with time and looked as though it had seen several battles. Since it was made of polyester, the colors did not run and we made sure it did not touch the ground, remembering my old U.S. Navy training. When I saw the flag flapping on our clothesline, clean, bright and fresh, I got the inspiration for FRESH GLORY."
