Back Road Beauty
"This lithograph is one of a pair printed in New York with Burr Miller & Sons. It came about because of my never-ending love of driving in the country - no telephone, totally free to enjoy the beauty. This rural highway cuts through an idyllic landscape - the yellow stripes warning drivers not to pass. In "BACK ROAD BEAUTY" the stripes lead us into a distant explosion of yellow and who knows beyond. Rural highways usually are lightly traveled, allowing the full impact of road and land with out distraction."
